Meet the Director

Get to know our Student Director for the 2021-2022 dance season:

KIARA FINLAY!

Kiara Finlay is a senior in the Georgetown College, majoring in English with a minor in African American Studies and Performing Arts. Hailing from the city of Miami, Florida, and having Jamaican heritage, she takes pride in the cultural influence that has shaped her upbringing and dance ability. Kiara has been a classically trained dancer since the age of 3, and has studied various styles including ballet, jazz, tap, modern, pointe, and hip hop to name a few. She is both honored and overjoyed to serve as the Student Director for Black Movements Dance Theatre during the 2021-2022 school year! Along with her wonderful board members, Kiara aims to make BMDT a dynamic force on Georgetown's campus, and continue BMDT's beautiful storytelling legacy through dance. When Kiara is not in HFSC Studio A, some of the places you may find her are with the GU Gospel Choir or the Hoya Blue Diamonds, Georgetown's very first dance line! In any case, she is very excited about what BMDT has in store for this year, so be sure to stay up-to-date on our events for the semester!!
