To celebrate National Dance Week (and beyond), BMDT is inviting the community to join us for various dance classes to celebrate the art of dance.
Saturday, April 17, 2021, at 12:30 EST: Afro Jazz with Professor Alfreda Davis. This class has been postponed.
Thursday, April 22, 2021, at 7:30 p.m. EST: Community class with Master Artist Sheryl Thomas, an international dancer, choreographer and Horton technique specialist. She teaches ballet, jazz, modern, and contemporary dance. Thomas is currently on faculty at George Mason University and previously at Harvard University. Zoom link here.
BMDT and Black Pearl Dance Theatre present InConversation, an interview with performing arts advocate and award-winning civil rights attorney Saleema Snow. She is a Professor of Law at the David A. Clarke School of Law at the University of the District of Columbia.
In honor of Black History Month, BMDT is releasing a film short, called "From the Vault", featuring company repertoire celebrating Black history. This presentation will highlight previous guest artists and some of our most popular works.
Members of the Georgetown community are welcome to join the BMDT company for our community master classes.
